Dojo challenges
one theme. one week.
A dojo challenge gives everyone the same brief at the same moment. Draw for a week, then the dojo votes for three days, and every finished entry stays in the gallery.
An example brief
a sign painter's lowercase.
Twenty-six letters for a shop front, read from across the street. Typo Display's skeleton is allowed as a start; the final drawing must be yours.

- Entries
- One each
How it runs
four parts, in order.
The calendar is the same for everyone, and every step happens on typodojo, so every entry can be checked.
- 01
Announced
The brief, the characters to draw and the dates, on this page and in one email.
- 02
Drawing week
Seven days. Draw in the studio; the entry is your project, with its history, so the work shows its making.
- 03
Voting
Three days. Verified accounts vote on entries shown in a random order, with names hidden until voting closes.
- 04
The gallery
Finalists are pressed with the dojo challenge seal. Every finished entry stays, credited to the person who drew it.
Fair play
the same brief, the same clock.
Prizes are announced with the first challenge. Whatever they are, the rules below hold.
- One entry per person, drawn in typodojo during the drawing week.
- Only verified accounts vote, once per entry, and never for their own.
- Entries show without names while voting is open.
- Committed members and members enter and vote the same way.
- An entry that copies another font is removed, and the report is public.
The gallery
empty, for now.
The first challenge fills it. Until then, today's practice is open.
